Eye Clinic

Magrabi Eye, Ear and Dental Center was the first in the Middle East to introduce the sub-specialties based practice, as it offers 12 sub-specialties in the ophthalmology field. This discipline gives more accurate results in the diagnosis, treatment and surgeries of the eye diseases.

  • Refractive Surgery Unit
    For correction of all types of refractive errors such as, Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism using Lasik surgery and other modern technologies.
  • Cataract Unit
    To treat Cataract (opacity of the eye lens) and Intra-Ocular Lens Implant through a small opening using topical anesthetic eye drops and no surgical sutures.
  • Vitro-Retina Unit
    To treat retina and vitreous related diseases such as retinal detachment and vitreous bleeding. Treatment is via Laser or surgery.
  • Glaucoma Unit
    To treat different types of Glaucoma (increased pressure inside the eye that may lead to optic nerve damage thus loss of vision).
  • Cornea, External Eye diseases Unit
    For the treatment of diseases of the Cornea, Conjunctiva, Ocular Allergy and Corneal transplant surgeries.
  • Pediatric Ophthalmology Unit
    To treat eye diseases in pediatrics such as congenital Glaucoma, congenital Cataract, congenital Retinopathy, Strabismus and Amblyopia.
  • Oculoplasty Unit
    Plastic surgery of the eyes such as Ptosis (relaxation of eyelids) or in cases of traumas or burns, Probing and restructuring of the lacrimal ducts.
  • Ocular Oncology Unit
    To treat eye tumors via radiation, chemotherapy, or surgery according to the size and location of the tumor.
  • Neuro-Ophthalmology Unit
    To treat eye diseases related to the optic nerve or the nervous system (and affecting the eye nerves) such as optic nerve inflammations.
  • Low Vision Aids Unit
    To enable those with very poor vision to see better using magnifying lenses or special devices.
    For proper refraction, identification of the suitable types of contact lenses for patients and for cosmetic purposes. Training about how to use and maintain contact lenses is also conducted in this unit.
  • Ophthalmic Investigation Unit
    For investigations required to assure the diagnosis and follow up of the patients' medical condition.
